Pundits are hardwired to not believe a news story that they disagree with. So even when the news takes a rare moment of pointing out that they have actual evidence in a story, opponents then launch tirades about the source of the story.

Case in point, Megan McArdle, who in the week prior to the writing of this comic, wrote four separate blog posts defending the Koch brothers and their affiliation with the Heartland Institute, a sham organization revealed to be developing schemes to lie about climate change. Oh, also, her husband is on the Kochs' payroll and also shut up everyone.
