In which I very so slightly praise Republicans
You know, I really do have to make a point of praise for Republicans about something this election cycle. For all the nonsense of their debates: that there have been so many of them, that they've been the usual chance for lunatics like Gingrich and Paul and Cain to make their racist and/or moronic and/or violent sound bites, there is one thing that's worth noting:
At no point this year did the Republican Party team up with YouTube to do whatever the hell that goddamn stupid-ass bullshit four years ago was. So, good job, guys.
"Truth Vigilantes"
The Public Editor is the person at a newspaper who questions what journalistic ethics the paper's reporters should follow. This week, the Public Editor of the New York Times asked, and by that he solicited reader opinions, if the Times' reporters should mention when someone if lying. In other words, this is A. something they are not doing already, B. something they're not actually sure is part of the job of being a news reporter, and C. what the fuck.
