These are truly the most pathetic people I have ever seen
Remember when liberals were called pathetic and juvenile because we said George W. Bush "wasn't our president" just because of some silly thing about usurping the actual will of the voters through confederates in the Supreme Court? Of course you don't. Because the universe did not exist until January 20, 2009.
"Why we didn't impeach George W. Bush"
So you can't impeach the president just because he wiped his ass with about seven or eight of the amendments in the Bill of Rights, but if you messed up on your taxes, you can't work in Washington anymore. And you can win eight gold medals in the Olympics, but take a hit from a bong and say goodbye to your endorsements. And Jessica Simpson's sudden front-page headlines I just feel sorry for, both her and anyone who actually wants to read about it.
There is no filibuster
I understand Matt Yglesias' frustration, but what I don't understand is how you can suggest that the problem with Republican obstructionism can be fixed by eliminating a procedure that isn't used.
There is no filibuster. Republicans aren't filibustering the stimulus bill because Harry Reid and the Democrats aren't making the Republicans filibuster. Yglesias may as well say "we need to seriously discuss eliminating the practice of Repubilicans delaying votes by releasing swarms of bees in the chamber." They don't do that either.
You know what'd be a great idea? Making Republicans filibuster. I feel like a few people might have mentioned this once or twice.
